About the Faculty of Irbid University


Irbid University college was stablished in Irbid City in 1987 where it was known as Irbid Female Teachers Enstitute. It was attached to the Ministry of Education, and in 1980/1981, it turned to be an intermediale community college, In 1985, the Ministry of Higher Education was created and the community college was directed and supervised by this ministry

In 1997, AL-Balqa' Applied University was established with the aim of preparing human resources who would be academically and technically qualified and practically trained at both university and intermediate levels to meet the different needs and requirements of society.

The system management of public community colleges has become one of the significant responsibilities of AL-Balqa' Applied University.

The university has done its best for the promotion of community colleges by advancing their programs and work plans, expansion of buildings and facilities, rehabilitation and training of their staff and providing them with modern instruments and equipment;

Therefore, the college hase become under the umbrella of AL-Balqa' Applied University since the beginning of the academic year 1997/1998.

Irbid University College has been generally accredited and its specializations have been specially accredited. The college has always worked for providing all instructional services and facilities, the fact which enabled it to supply the public and private schools of the kingdom, as well as a lot of the schools of neighboring countries with tens of female teachers who were trained and graduted from it, in a way that its educational and cultural radiation reached large areas of our great Arab world.

The college, has moved forward with confident steps in order to develop its programs gradually, taking into account society and job market needs, in a way that specializations could be useful for students in their private daily lives in order to contribute in dealing with the problem of unemployment.

The college has planned to hold a number of meetings to increase the efficiency of local community through the participation of public sector for the sake of promoting its programs and specializations. Simultaneously, the college looks forward to the future because it has the sufficient educational and managerial qualifications and equipment that make it capable of meeting the needs of university instruction in a lot of specializations, in harmony with the strategic plan of the college according to AL-Balqa' Applied university vision.

College Aims


The college is in complete harmony with the basic task of AL-Balq' Applied University.

It aims at serving the local community in particular and the Jordanian society in general. In light of the college's adoption of its strategic plan, it emphasizes the following aims:-

  • Providing the Opportunities For university and intermediate studies in academic, technical and applied fields.
  • Increasing the number of female students in applied specializations.
  • Promoting some specializations in order to become production centers.
  • Conducting further studies to identify new specializations which will meet job market needs.
  • Advancing the level of instruction in the college by developing instructional plans and curricula and making sure that they will be appropriate for the requirements of different sectors.
  • Emphasizing practical training during instruction in and outside the college in a way that is appropriate for the nature of the instructional subject.
  • Enriching the college students' artistic and aesthetic sensation.
  • consolidating links and exchanging experiences with the educational institutions inside and outside the kingdom.
  • Exercising the activities which completely promote the belief in religion, Islamic values, national and moral affiliation.
  • Developing further applied specializations on the bachelor level and supporting some specializations at the intermediate university degree level.
  • Graduating scientifically and technically qualified and trained female students in different specializations in away that meets job market needs.

Teaching And Managerial Staff Members:

The number of teaching staff members is (125) and the number of managerial staff members is (143).
