About the Faculty of Salt for Human Sciences

Al-Salt college was founded in 1975 as a Teachers, Institute where it started to provide specialized programs that serve the educational process in Jordan Among these programs are: Math's science, Arabic Language, Sharia'a, English language, physical Education, Fine Arts, Social Studies.

In 1980/1981, the Institute was developed to become an Intermediate Community College, adding new programs to meet the needs of labor market.

These programs were: Plant production, Fashion Design and Cloth Manufacturing, Interior Design, Assistant Pharmacy, Architecture, and Surveying.

The comprehensive Exam was accredited for all students of community colleges in the same year.

In 1997, the Royal Decree approved the establishment of AL-Balqa'a Applied University and Al-Salt city as its location.

AL-Salt College became the permanent head quarter for the university center.

Therefore, Al-Salt College and all other community colleges were joined under the university auspices. In 2006, AL_Salt community college developed into a university college, granting the Bachelor Degree in child Education.

The college now includes: (72) members as a teaching staff, and (115) members forming the administrative staff. The first – year – Diploma students (males and females) amount to (1419), in addition to (29) female students enrolled in the Bachelor Degree program.

The College Vision :

AL-Salt University College aspires to be a distinguished scientific institution where it can provide all academic specializations able to satisfy the needs of the local community and can as well implement the policies envisaged by Al-Balqa'a Applied University.

The college, furthermore, seeks to cope up with the scientific and academic progress and advances in the region and in the world.

Goals :

  • Launch new specializations that go in harmony with the lalor market needs through a close co – ordination with employers.
  • Enhance the co– operation with the local community by offering educational and training courses.
  • Upgrade the level of achievement for both teaching and administrative staff through providing scholarships and training courses.
  • Equip the college with necessary labs and facilities to accomplish the aspired educational targets and objectives.
  • Provide services for students that could contribute in improving university life for them.
  • Find resources of financial support to increase the college budget.
