About The Faculty of Al-Shoubak University

Shouback Secondary Agricultural School was established in 1965/1966, a time when teaching started in this school.

It Was Unique Agricultural School In Maan Directorate.

A Time That Witnessed an Educational Expansion in Jordan.

In 1975 The Ministry Of Education Established An Institute For Preparing Agricultural Teachers In Agricultural Field.

The Graduates Were 330 Ones.

When The Ministry Of Education Adapted The Concept Of Community Colleges, Shouback Community College Was Replaced In 1980/1981 Instead Of The Previous Institute.

A The Publication Of The Royal Decree To Establish Al-Balqa Applied University On 22\Aug\1996, The Law Of Al-Balqa Applied University Was produced – N. 13 in 1997, It Was Published In The Official Newspaper On 16\Mar\1997.

Since 1ST \Jan\1999, Shouback College Has Joined Academically, Financially and With Its Administration to Al-Balqa Applied University.

Al-Balqa Applied University Focuses On Developing The Academic Level In This College By Providing Qualified Tutors Especially In Animal Production And Plant Production Fields.

The University Also Established Computer Labs Supplied With New Modern Computer Devices And All Technical Facilities Too.


Through its strategic plan which springs from the strategic goals of Al-Balqa' Applied University, the mission of the college is to promote the level and range of the services offered to the Jordanian community by providing and preparing well-trained technicians whether in Agricultural, educational and trade fields so that they can participate in various development projects.

The college also concentrates on the local commuinty by exploiting all its assets for this end like conducting training courses in computer fields and food industry.

College and society: Between the college and the community in which it exists, there is a strong cooperation in all domains : scientific, social, sport and otherwise.

The college also provides the community with all possible facilities for different activities. The staff members of the college serve as consultants specially in matters related to agriculture - in collaboration with people-owned farms.

Scientific research: The college conducts researches financially supported by the University center.

These researches are concerned with agriculture (insects- prevention/protection) and nutrition and food industry.
